With a dream and a little money in his pocket from WWII's G.I. Bill, local Medfield resident Vincent Palumbo applied for a liquor license in 1946 to build his retail store. By using smart business tactics and strong work ethic, Vincent created a business still owned and operated sixty-eight years later by his family.

Originally, the liquor store was called Vet Package Store named after service in WWII. Many years later, Vincent's two sons Rusty and David convinced him to change the name to its current title Palumbo Liquors. With a new name, Vincent turned his focus towards expanding his 20-by-60 building to a larger location. In 1951, with the help of his cousin's father, Vincent purchased land across the street from his original spot and built Medfield's current location. Then in 1968, Vincent decided it was time to expand his business once again by opening a second, larger location in Walpole, Ma.

In 1985, Vincent's sons, Rusty and Rick, took over both locations from their father. Since the second generation of Palumbo's has taken over, the growth of the business has only increased. The amount and variety of products may have expanded, but the small store feel and attention to customer service has remained the same. Once you walk through our doors, our employees cater to your needs through our various tastings, specialty orders and excellent product expertise.

In the future both locations will be passed onto the third generation of the Palumbo family. They will continue to foster an environment where every customer feels like family. A place where we have sixty-eight years of experience finding the right bottle for the right occasion. We pride ourselves on service and selection with the drive to constantly improve.
